Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world, with 75 percent of the population under 30 years old. This provides exciting potential for the future but also brings challenges. Youth struggle to find decent work and opportunities - especially in rural areas. The poor quality of education and the high number of children dropping out of school means many young people do not have the skills they need for employment. Climate-related shocks and disasters also threaten livelihoods and leave families struggling to support their children. We are helping youth and their families to meet their basic needs and escape the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
Skill Training Program
We equip older children with the skills they need to secure decent work and income. We provide training in a various departments – from tailoring, to art and design and leatherwork, and agri-enterprises. These children also receive training on financial literacy, market analysis, sales and marketing and other skills needed to start and grow their own viable small businesses.

Why we need your generous support.
We urgently need a clinic at the orphanage home, and a visiting doctor to offer more support. We kindly welcome any medical support at the Orphanage. We need your urgent support for the infants, toddlers, children and our adolescents.
We also have children who are living with HIV. These type need very special care and the home hasn’t gotten enough capacity to manage such cases. So we facilitate referrals and acquisition and access to vital medical supplies. We need more support in this area. We also need counselors to visit the home and offer psych-logical support to these children.

Children need a healthy workspace
At the home currently we are looking to have a resident nursing assistant, who looks after the health of the children in the orphanage. In extreme cases, children are referred to other bigger health centers or hospitals for further examination and the Home meets the expenses. Many of these children suffer from various diseases and we are committed to ensuring the good health for each of them. However, feeding, medication and treatment is one of the most expensive programs at the home and we need more support in this area.
